An organisation born from the field, not from theory
A caring space, open to all, where each person is supported from start to finish on their journey: that is Mèti's Konpetans' purpose.
Where the project comes from
At the origin of Mèti's Konpetans, one conviction: no one should face a path of rebuilding alone.
The reality is clear: social support, training and employment services too often work in silos. People move from one organisation to another, repeat their story, lose confidence, and sometimes give up entirely.
Mèti's Konpetans exists to bring together what is usually separated. One place, one pathway, continuous support, from rebuilding confidence to employment: this is what we are building, step by step.
What Mèti's Konpetans means
The organisation's name is in Réunion Creole. « Mèti's » evokes both trades and the blending of life paths; « Konpetans » means skills — those a person already has, and those still waiting to be revealed.
A social and solidarity economy organisation
Mèti's Konpetans falls within the social and solidarity economy under the French law of 31 July 2014.
Our values
These are not words on a wall. They are concrete commitments that guide every action, every workshop, every support journey.
Solidarity
Here, everyone brings something to the group. Mutual support isn't just a word: it's how our workshops and support programmes work every day.
Dignity
We welcome people, not case files. Every life journey deserves respect, and that's where rebuilding begins.
Kindness
No judgement, no pressure. We guarantee a safe environment, the essential condition to speak up, try, and regain confidence.
Skills
Our goal: that everyone leaves with practical know-how and real agency. Revealing potential is our reason for being.
